Enrique morales

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Enrique Morales-Camacho began his musical journey in elementary school choir. In middle school he was selected to participate in an honor choir for the state of Oregon to sing with 100 of the best singers in the state. During this time, he was introduced to the famous game called "Guitar Hero." There, his passion for music shifted from singing to the electric guitar. During high school he became serious about his guitar playing as he began to play for local church band and received private instruction from guitar instructor Michael Backus, a Portland State University graduate in Jazz performance and composition. After high school, Enrique went on to study at Portland Bible College where he majored in music, specifically electric guitar studying under the instruction of electric guitar virtuoso Yas Hontani. He graduated in Spring of 2018 with a bachelors in Music, and has been an instructor at Mannahouse Music Academy for 5 years now. When it comes to teaching guitar, he’s passionate about watching people grow as musicians and helping them through their musical journey. Enrique believes we can all achieve our musical goals. It starts by simply taking “One step at a time.”

Shelley giesbers

Shelley Giesbers grew up in a musical family, and music has always been a passion and a huge part of her life. As a child, she began singing in church and developed a special skill and love for singing harmony parts. She has performed as a soloist, as part of a duo (for many years with her sister), with several trios, quartets and other choral groups of all sizes, in musical productions, and on worship teams.

She studied music and performed in groups all through her high school and college years. She has received training from various professional choral directors, as well as private instructors. (She even had the privilege of singing in a church choir directed by Jackson and Almeda Berkey, members of Mannheim Steamroller, when living in Omaha, NE--and studying piano under Almeda for a brief time.)

Her professional and volunteer roles over the years have included directing choirs, ensembles, and musicals for children, youth, and adults. She has also taught private voice and piano lessons.

What Shelley loves most about teaching music is watching artists of all levels/ages experience the joy of discovering, exploring, and developing new creative skills and talents--and finding their own passion for music, in the process.

Recitals happen about twice a year, and everyone who is part of GN's music program is invited to perform. Participation is optional...but highly encouraged!
