Beau and Rose Sem

Beau and Rose started Groove Nation Dance Academy in September of 2003. Their vision was to bring a family friendly hip hop dance studio to the Portland and Vancouver area. With a heart for investing in kids to help them reach their fullest potential, their vision also grew.

Together, they continue to work hand-in-hand, building a community performing arts center specializing in urban arts, where dancers from all over the world can visit and participate.

Beau, an award-winning choreographer, instructor and creative director over the 6 performing dance companies, developed a dance program that helps all kids with a passion for dance to hone their skills.

With over 20 years of hip hop dance experience, Beau has become a teacher to the teachers. His style is fresh and on the cutting-edge, without compromising his standards of keeping it positive.

Those within the business, consider him one of the best that the industry has to offer. He has worked with celebrity choreographers such as: Shane Sparks, Kennis Marquis, Tymme and Aury Reitz, and he as danced for T-Bone, Johnny Ramirez (Mexico), LaKeita Garth (nationally renowned speaker) and more.

Now his award-winning choreography helps others find jobs in the entertainment industry dancing for high profile artists, as well as large companies such as Nike, Macy’s and Columbia Sportswear. Beau is invited to do Master Workshops throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Beau coaches Kontrolled Kaos and Genesis crew and occasionally teaches drop-in Hip Hop classes — check Facebook/GrooveNationAcademy for details and schedules.
